Spanning 2,303 linear feet of sewer main trunk line, the Riverside Trunk Sewer Rehab project focused on the rehabilitation of two pipe diameters using the spiral wound lining method. The 60-inch segments were lined using the SPR method while the 42-inch segment required the SPRTF/RO method, each demanding a tailored approach to ensure a successful installation. Ruby-Collins’ extensive experience with SPR lining proved instrumental in delivering the project efficiently and without disruption to the surrounding community.
The project presented several challenges, including high flow rates and groundwater infiltration from the nearby Chattahoochee River following rain events. To keep the project on track, Ruby-Collins scaled up bypass pumping operations to reduce flows to a manageable level, allowing work to progress safely and on schedule.
High flow rates and groundwater infiltration from the Chattachoochee River after rain events caused some challenges. The bypass pumping operations increased to reduce flows to a manageable level.
