Meet the Team

Incorporation

1952

Ed Ruby incorporated Ruby Construction in Louisville, KY. RC got its start as a heavy highway contractor, building roads and interstates across Kentucky and Indiana.

Rapid Growth

1965

Clark J. Potter, Sr., led the charge. He adopted new policies (like progressive management), developed in-house training programs, and embraced new technologies.

Thanks to these changes—and the hardworking team at Ruby Construction—contract volume increased from $4M to $20M+ between 1960 and 1970.

Our Core Values

We Build...

  • From the Ground Up

The best ideas come from the field. We listen, adapt, and lead where the work happens.

  • Opportunity Through Excellence

Talent doesn’t wait its turn—whether you’ve been here ten days or ten years, advancement comes through effort, accountability, and the drive to keep improving.

  • A Culture Where People Come First

We look out for each other on and off the job site, respect time with family, and celebrate our people—not just our projects. You’re valued here, never numbered.

  • Safety Into Everything We Do

It’s not complicated—it’s the right thing to do. From the field to the office, we lead with care, act with intention, and focus on what matters most: preventing risks before they happen and protecting our people today and tomorrow. Safety isn’t a box to check, it’s how we think, lead, and build.

  • Like It's Ours

When our name’s on the work, we take responsibility. That means staying sharp, owning the details, and leaving every site better than we found it. Accountability isn’t just a promise—it’s a standard we live by, every day, on every job.
