Job Overview

The Carpenter is a skilled craftsman responsible for the structural foundation of water/wastewater infrastructure projects. This role focuses on the high-precision formwork required for pump stations, storage tanks, and treatment facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build, set, and secure formwork systems (including Symons, gang forms, and radius forms) for structural concrete pours.
  • Ensure all forms are plumb, square, and reinforced to handle high-pressure pours.
  • Install anchor bolts, rebar cages, and water stops.
  • Construct troughs, weirs, and equipment pads for heavy process machinery.
  • Construct temporary work platforms, safety railings, and scaffolding.
  • Assist with the rigging of materials and pour phases.
  • Assist with grouting equipment baseplates and installing miscellaneous metals.
  • Adhere to OSHA, company, and site-specific safety protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven concrete carpentry formwork experience, specifically in heavy civil, plant, or industrial construction.
  • Travel & Location: Must live within a commutable distance to the job site and be willing to work out of town during the week. Note: Travel per diem is provided, and crews are home on the weekends.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret civil and structural blueprints, proficient in various forming systems, skilled with circular saws, miter saws, drills, and leveling equipment (transit or laser levels).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in outdoor elements (extreme heat, rain, or cold). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, kneel, crouch, and safely navigate active construction terrains.
  • Safety Mindset: A strict commitment to company safety policies and OSHA standards, specifically regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), trench safety, fall protection, and working safely around heavy equipment.
  • Compliance: Must be authorized to work in the US and pass a pre-employment drug screening/physical.
